Women SEO Experts Share Their SEO Advice

ttSEO may be a man’s world most of the time. And, yes, there are many highly bright men in the field, and I am lucky to be working with many of them. But remember all of the SEO specialist females. Anyone (male or female) with an analytical mind and a passion for being at the top of their game or the search engines will succeed in this field. Just know it’s not for the faint of heart, like the other women on this list, and I can agree.

SEO Advice by Women Experts

So, without further ado, let’s take a look at what we can learn about SEO from some of the industry’s best SEO women:

1. Anna Lewis

Anna has a strong interest in statistics. In-depth research and analysis are significant elements of any successful SEO campaign, and Lewis is one of the best.

SEO Advice: Be aware of the locations of your top customers.

“…having your website found by people in the locations you serve is essential to the success… In her blog post, Using Google Analytics to Improve Your Local SEO Campaign, Anna Lewis said, “You can use Google Analytics to excellent tune and boost your local SEO activity.”

In her helpful post, Anna discusses using Google Analytics to dig down into your audience’s demographics and then segment organic vs. paid search traffic. A snapshot like this will assist you in identifying any areas of weakness or surprising strengths and where you should focus your SEO efforts.

2. Vanessa Fox

Have you heard about Google’s Search Console (Webmaster Tool)? You have, of course. It’s at the top of Google’s list of free SEO tools. So, what’s this? Vanessa was the one who came up with the idea for the tool. She’s a force to be reckoned with in the SEO world but also a fantastic source of SEO strategy advice.

SEO Advice: Always begin with a plan.

“Even with highly technical components, having a strategy may help guarantee that you’re tackling the most important issues first and establishing the framework for any new infrastructure components to be search-friendly.” This saves you time by preventing you from spending all your time resolving difficulties that arise repeatedly.”

3. Nichola Stott

Stott had experience in online media relations at significant companies like PRNewswire and Yahoo before launching Media Flow, a boutique marketing company. Nichola contributes to the SEO community by writing interesting blogs for publications like Search Engine Watch, SEO Chicks, and the State of Search.

SEO Advice: Make your website’s USP (Unique Selling Proposition) clear and optimize your website.

“Don’t try to figure out what symptoms the ‘most relevant’ page presents by chasing the algorithm; just be the most relevant.”

4. Donna Fontenot

Donna is a regular contributor to Search Engine People, a moderator for the Search Engine Roundtable, and the founder of SEO Scoop. She is a busy lady, yet she never seems too busy to offer helpful SEO advice.

SEO Advice: To avoid Google Panda issues, use Grammarly.

In a recent piece on her site, Donna goes into great detail about how Grammarly may help you ensure your material is unique and high-quality. Grammarly also offers citation audits, which can tell you how original your writing appears, and its popular grammar checker (which can help improve the quality of your posts). A citation or two may be required if it is published elsewhere.

5. Jill Whalen

Jill is one of the original SEO pioneers, having worked in the field since the 1990s. Yes, those were the days of floppy discs, dial-up Internet, and “You’ve Got Mail.” In the 1990s, the world was different, but what about the digital age? That was like being in another galaxy. Only some people from back then can still claim to be experts now, but Jill Whalen isn’t one of them. She is the current CEO of High Rankings, one of the oldest SEO firms globally, and she has a lot of fantastic SEO ideas (and possibly a much more great story) to share.

SEO Advice: Writing an outstanding, user-friendly, and informative piece of content is the most important thing you can do for your website and daily visitors.

“I found that the hardest aspect of SEO was finding exceptional authors,” Jill says in an interview with Laura Crest of Success Works. But once you discovered them, ensuring they utilized keywords in their excellent work was simple enough for them to understand.” Find a talented writer and teach them how to use the proper keywords instead of hunting for an SEO Writer.”

“Women are the Building Block of SEO,” claims Barry Schwartz. And while this is by no means a complete list of the most powerful women in SEO (it would be much too big), these are some of the ladies I follow. It should give you a good idea of how important women have become in the SEO and Digital marketing sector with time.

SheWriteDaily created a list of 25 female SEO professionals who are worth reading. These remarkable women on their list are not rated in any particular order, and they all contribute equally to the industry. These ladies will instruct, inspire, and entertain you. If you have not heard of them, I strongly advise you to do so.
